Blurb:
Rodrick Dracon is the twin heir to the Dragon Inn. When he finds himself longing for a mate after being footloose and fancy free, he finds himself drawn to the most obnoxious, brassy woman he has ever met: Jaxon Sinclair. She is the one woman who doesn't melt when he goes by or hangs on his every word. She is just aggravating and down right sexy as sin! Soon the sparks fly, passion goes into boiling and Halloween approaches. Can this wolf shifter get this woman to heel before the full moon? Will Jax turn the tables on this ladies man and tame the wolf?
Excerpt:

Rod watched Jax, the bane of his existence or so it was until a few months ago when he noticed the way her eyes flared with laughter, or the way her legs seemed to go on for miles in those short skirts she wore when she was at the Dirty Diamond. He didn’t know what changed between them but he was definitely feeling something for this pain in the ass female that seemed to call to him and the wolf within him howled as he watched those luscious legs walk over to him. “Yeah, seems everyone is getting ready for the Halloween costume dance tomorrow. What are you up to tonight? Dinner date?” Rod fairly growled the last part though he was surprised that the thought of Jax with another man had the wolf in him wanting to beat the man into submission.

“Was going to have dinner with Grady but he got short staffed and had to cover tonight. Just seeing if I can grab a take out from your mom.” Jax said as she marveled at how normal it was between them. Though she thought the hair on his arms bristled at the thought of her on a date though it probably was her imagination. Rod wasn’t interested in her, just the ones who wanted a good time and an easy lay.

Rod felt relieved that she wasn’t meeting anyone but was surprised all the same at the thought of her being alone tonight made him want to cuddle with her. Her eyes held faint purple shadows underneath and she looked like she hadn’t had a good nights rest in ages. “I am sure my mom would love to give you something since everyone knows you can burn water without trying.” The smile that tugged at his lips surprised him as he watched her eyes go a little wide then narrow in annoyance.

“What the hell would you know about cooking, you jackass? I bet you couldn’t make something if your life depended on it.” Jax said as her lips practically snarled at him. If she didn’t know better, she would have thought there was a smile lingering on his smug face.

“Oh are you challenging me Jax? Can’t take the fact that I may actually know something you don’t? Want to take that to a test?” Rod felt a quickening in his blood that had him wondering if he was absolutely flaming insane. Why the thought of making dinner for her had him wanting something more and though if he had to say, he was enjoying the play of emotions on her face; it was fun to watch and damn it, he wanted to prove to her that he could actually do something besides what she thought he was: a playboy that flitted from woman to woman, though he was unsure why it mattered what Jax really thought of him. Needling her a little more just for the sake of being annoyed, Rod leaned forward and stroked a finger down her nose and smirked a little as he said softly, “Afraid Jax that maybe I can do something that will make you readjust your opinion of me?”

Excerpt:
The encroaching twilight once more drew her focus to the landscape. Above the mountain stars appeared in the dusky thistle colored sky and the quiet voice within her mind recalled the names of the three closest and largest ones—Alco, Miza and Mizu. The innate knowledge informed her that the star Alio, The Signifier, would also grace the sky that night, indicating change was on the way. The bright orb would remind them all that the process had begun. The great planet Si’Ludo would rise. Pwu Ihu, The One, their Messiah, would come. The rift caused by the Great Divide would be healed. All would be as it once was.
A deep pang of longing for all of it to come to pass settled in her core. She put her hand to her mouth and stuck her forefinger’s knuckles between her teeth so as not to cry out. How could she know these things? How come she felt such intense yearning for everything her inner voice, her voice, she realized, had mentioned? She wasn’t a part of this world. She shouldn’t know anything about it!
Behind her, the huge wooden door creaked open and, in the reflection of the window, she watched Hawk-man enter. A toga like outfit adorned his tall, lean body, the white cloth glaringly bright against the dark room and held close to him at the waist by a wide gold belt. Leather boots fit snug along his calves.
Casually he came up behind her, put an arm around her waist and positioned her to face him. With his free hand, he captured her chin in a vice like grip and tilted her head up. The dark beady eyes gazed down at her. A chill streaked down her spine, sending zings of ice along her peripheral nerves.

Last month Catanetwork posted over 25 wonderful Kiss Excerpts at Ecataromance.com. Now it's up to YOU to decide which smooch excerpt is the best of the best. The winning excerpt will be crowned our Smooch Winner so it's important that you come out in droves and vote. Mine is To Teach an Ancient God (they forgot my name with it).
Super easy:

The poll is in the right column. Here is that excerpt:
"Who are you?" Jenna asked. "And where am I?"
The figure flicked the burning butt into the dark water lapping at the barge and stood up. "I'm Charon. And I'm in charge of this barge that takes those who died down the River Styx here. You're near the gates of the Underworld."
"Underworld?"
"Yep, the Underworld. You know, where Hades hangs his hat. If he wore a hat."
She shook her head. "Okay, I'm still asleep and dreaming. Did I watch some episode of Hercules last night to cause this dream?"
"Nope, girlie-girl," said Charon with a wide grin. "Hades has been waiting a thousand years for you. Ever since old Zeus zapped you out of his arms while you were both doing the wild thing. Thanks to your mother, the head honcho of Olympus sent you off into the future to be born in some mortal body." He shrugged. "Too bad it's such a pitiful one. From goddess to geek.
"The snorting and neighing of horses filled the air suddenly and they both whipped around. A handsome man with pale skin, black eyes and long, midnight hair that flowed over his shoulders like smoke halted a black and silver chariot pulled by a matching pair of pitch-black stallions. The horses, almost blending with the darkness, had eyes that glowed red like the dying embers of a fire. They stamped and snorted until he laid a touch on each one. Then they stood still like statues.
"Do not insult my beloved, Charon." A frown appeared on his dark angel face.
Charon sat back down. "Oh hi, boss. Sorry about the pitiful body part. Same about the geek thing. But Persephone sure isn't the same as she was before. Sure you still want her? I mean, Aphrodite is interested in you and boy, that goddess is well stacked!"
Jenna frowned. "Excuse me, but what are you talking about? I am not Persephone. I'm just plain old Jenna Krinard from Nebraska. Can I wake up from this nightmare now?"
Dark amusement glinted in Hades' eyes. "Nightmare? Beloved, this is no dream." He stepped down from the chariot. "And neither is this a dream." He pulled her into his arms and captured her lips with his, moving against them with hard, seductive intensity.
His tongue thrust past her lips to enter her mouth. It dueled with hers, flicking and caressing the inside of her mouth. It felt real. All too real. She thought she must be drunk, as if she'd swallowed too much wine. Boneless, she felt ready to fall down, except she didn't, due to the dark young god who held her body tightly fitted against his. He was all hard muscles and power, even down to the hardness nudging her hip.
He let her go. "Now, tell me again that all this is a dream." His dark gaze locked with hers. "That I am a dream."
Jenna's felt strange, electrified. Her breathing moved in and out, in short rasps. She reached up and touched her lips, which felt swollen because the god who ruled the Underworld had made them so. She shivered, but not from the cold air."
Oh God," she moaned.
"Yes, my beloved, which I am. Though I prefer Hades on your sweet lips."

PURCHASE

My romantic fantasy/futuristic novel was released last Friday and is currently No 2 in the Faery Rose line of The Wild Rose Press. I am so thrilled that my book is finally out there!

BLURB:

When Jestine Darnell is rescued from her sabotaged starship by the crew of the Destiny her only objective is to complete her mission and keep her promise to save a world from slavery. Love is the last thing on her mind. However, she has not counted on losing her heart to Kerry Marchant the ship’s second in command, who makes his distrust of her painfully obvious, despite the chemistry between them. The completion of her mission has consequences that neither of them could have foreseen.

Enter Dahll Tarron, who becomes involved in a long and dangerous quest to find the Destiny. Fates become intertwined, perils shared, culminating in the realization that sometimes love may be so close that there is a danger it will not be recognized until it is too late…

EXCERPT

In this excerpt, Jess has been rescued from her stricken ship by the starship Destiny and is trying to fit in as one of the crew:

Kerry, by contrast to the rest of the crew, was something of an enigma to Jess. She noticed his attitude toward her becoming increasingly cool. Quietly spoken, often taciturn, he was clearly possessed of a brilliant mind. Although slow to volunteer information, if she asked a specific question relating to either the Destiny or Metisa, he became completely involved with the subject, explaining simply but precisely. However, she could not persuade him to talk about himself, which naturally made her all the more curious about him. She frequently felt his scrutiny as if he were waiting for her to give herself away, although she could think of nothing she had said or done to arouse his suspicions. This was not the only thing about Kerry she found disturbing.

She was coming to know the ship almost as well as she had known her own vessel. A skilled pilot herself, she was happy to tackle many of the routine operating tasks, plus some of those that were not so routine. Despite his aloofness, she found herself learning a great deal from Kerry. She observed the way he handled the ship, the instructions he gave to the computers. It seemed like second nature to him.

On one occasion, at Jon’s direction, she was perfecting a complicated navigational manoeuvre with the manual controls, under Kerry’s supervision. “She’s a large, powerful ship,” he said, “and needs handling with a delicate touch. Too much pressure and you would lose her.” Jess glanced at him, frowning. Perhaps the ship wasn’t the only thing that needed delicate handling. He placed his hands lightly over hers to guide them, and to her embarrassment, she felt her heart thud uncomfortably against her ribs and a blush of colour burn her cheeks.

“This is exactly the position these controls need to be in relation to each other, when the readings here, and here, correspond to the coordinates already set.”

To her relief, he appeared not to notice her unease. For a moment, his eyes met hers. She saw they were no longer expressionless, but alight with the pride and enthusiasm he felt for the ship. She looked away quickly to concentrate on the data in front of her, forcing herself to ignore the feelings stirring deep within her. She felt privileged that he and Jon allowed her to handle the controls, and determined to make the most of the opportunity to pilot the immense starship, without any distraction. Besides, she had a mission to accomplish. She had enough to worry about; she didn’t need added complications. She thought of the blaster hidden in her cabin. All the crew had free access to the ship’s arsenal, and because there was no one else on board the ship, there was no reason for stringent security. She’d found it relatively easy to take the gun when no one was around, but she knew if its loss was discovered she would have to act very quickly.

TRAILER

To add the icing to the cake I received the cover for the sequel 'Children Of The Mist' currently in edits, on the same day. It's exactly as I pictured this particular scene and I love it.
